In order to strike a balance between energy efficiency and human comfort, the room temperature on PolyU HHB Campus and PolyU WK Campus is set within 24°C to 26°C.

In general, room temperature at 24°C is recommended though it can be adjusted by local control in each general classroom and lecture theatre to a temperature within 18°C to 28°C. The air-conditioning system has to take about 15 minutes for processing after each adjustment (Please refer to the User Guide to Air Conditioning Control).

When the outdoor temperature is below 12°C, the cooling function of the air-conditioning system will not be activated. For better ventilation, fresh air will be drawn from the outside into the building; hence, there may not be much difference between the indoor and outdoor temperatures since the system does not comprise any pre-heaters.
