Other than lifts, there are 8 (from UG/F to 8/F) escalators on PolyU HHB Campus and 11 escalators (from LG/F to 10/F) on PolyU WK Campus. As advised by the maintenance contractor, 7 semi-outdoor escalators (located on LG/F to 5/F and 9/F to 10/F respectively) on PolyU WK Campus will be switched off during rainy days in order to prevent water damage. When escalators are temporarily closed due to maintenance works or rainy days, please do not walk on escalators to avoid accidents.

The escalators on the two campuses are in energy saving mode. They will run at a lower speed when no passengers are detected for a set period of time in order to save energy, while whenever a passenger is detected, they will resume at a rated operating speed.

Health advice: Skip the escalator and take the stairs.
